Drunk in Love with Mrs Isabelle Lemme 💋

Let’s rewind to the beginning… how did you and Matt meet? What drew you to him?

I first met Matt at the races—classic. I was in a red jumpsuit, running around laughing, yelling across the lawn to my friends (as you do), and apparently caught his eye. I had no idea, but he remembered me from that day. Fast-forward about six months to Melbourne Cup Day at Randwick, and we locked eyes again.

I was at the bar with a friend, and he came over to let us know it was closed. We ended up parking at the same table, sharing a few drinks and losing bets, and before the sun even set, we shared our first kiss and swapped numbers. He told me later he’d seen me months earlier, found me on Instagram, and had even asked his mate about me. A little stalker-ish, but in a cute way. 😏

Tell us everything about the proposal! When, where, and how did it all go down?

Matt proposed after lunch at Mimi’s in Coogee—a place close to my heart since I grew up in the area. It was super thoughtful, down to every detail. He’d told me we had a “mystery activity” after lunch and made me solve clues through one of those brain games I love.

We checked into The W Hotel, and the room was decorated by my best friend Emma (she nailed it). There was a fortune cookie with a sweet message… and then his just said: “Will you marry me?”

He was a nervous wreck and basically gave the game away when we walked in—he was pointing at random stuff in the room and acting all jittery. I blurted out, “Wait, are you about to propose?” and the poor guy panicked, but still got down on one knee. It was chaotic, emotional, and so us.

Afterwards, some of our closest friends and family were waiting downstairs to celebrate with us—and later, we ended the night the only way that felt right: in our hotel room with a mountain of Taco Bell.

Spill the tea on your hen’s party! Who was in your bridal crew, what did you wear, and what went down?

Iconic doesn’t even begin to cover it. I wore a white dress, and all my girls were in red—it was a whole moment. My bridesmaids (Emma, Kat, Gee, Mads, and my sister Emma) went all out with the décor. Red lipsticks, table runners, sunglasses… they nailed the brief.

We had lunch, then—surprise!—a fireman ;) picked me up and we all jumped onto a fire truck, danced through the streets, and ended the night at the club. It was wild, hilarious, and honestly everything I wanted.

What’s been the most meaningful part of your bridal era so far?

Hands down—our wedding day. Having all the people I love in one room, celebrating me and my husband and our love? Nothing beats that.

When was the big day and where did you tie the knot? Give us a sneak peek!

We got married on 28 March 2025 in Centennial Park. We originally planned to have the ceremony in the Rose Garden, but the rain had other plans. So we moved it to Centennial Homestead—and honestly, it was still magical. The rain didn’t dampen a thing!

Which Mrs in the Making piece did you love the most?

I’m obsessed with my custom “Mrs Lemme” gold necklace. I wore it at my hens, again at the reception (outfit change, obviously), and then again at the recovery party. It was my signature piece.

But I also loved seeing all my bridesmaids in their custom “Bridesmaid” necklaces—some in gold, some in silver. They looked stunning and it just pulled everything together.
